- Scantech GEOSCAN-M – High Performance Elemental Analysers
GEOSCAN-M has been installed at Newcrest’s Cadia CuAu copper and gold mine in New South Wales. At the mine Scantech GEOSCAN-M is used in a bulk sorting application and reports measurements each 30 seconds. The average concentration of the Gold in the ore is 1 gram per tonne or 1 part per million. The GEOSCAN-M is able to reject waste at an early stage of processing.
Scantech’s GEOSCAN-M was selected by Newcrest after it performed due diligence on PGNAA, PFTNA, XRF and MR analysers available worldwide. Remarkably, impressed by its efficiency, Newcrest has ordered further GEOSCAN-M analysers following the success of this application.
- Scantech TBM – High Performance Through Belt Moisture Analysers for the Minerals Industry
Scantech TBM210 allows high performance ore feed moisture analysis to be carried out. At Barrick Gold’s Cortez operation in Nevada, Scantech’s TBM210 moisture assessment was implemented. The results demonstrated that, by measuring the feed moisture, plant throughput could be increased by 3% at the operations producing 1.3 million ounce per annum.
- Scantech SizeScan – High Performance PSD, volume, belt speed analyser
Scantech SizeScan enables innovative application of 3D infrared camera technology and proprietary algorithms to measure Particle Size Distribution (PSD) of conveyed bulk materials in real time. Utilising technology developed by COREM in Quebec, Canada, Scantech SizeScan overcomes segmentation issues that characteristically affect 2D digital image analysis. The system works in the dark, foggy and high dust environments. Essentially, PSD analysis of the entire conveyed flow facilitates tight process control to make decisions that maximise the value of the product and minimise operating and maintenance costs. Also, the system can be used for mass flow.
