SNL Financial—the premier provider of breaking news, financial data and expert analysis on business sectors critical to the global economy including Banking, Insurance, Financial Services, Real Estate, Energy, Media & Communications and Metals & Mining—has signed a joint venture agreement with AME Trade Ltd to organise the Annual Mining on Top: Africa Summit, which takes place in London, United Kingdom.
AME Trade Ltd is a UK based, African focussed event organiser, who has the largest portfolio of mining events on the continent, as well as a significant African footprint with representatives in West, East, Central and Southern Africa.
The aim of this collaboration seeks to further strengthen the existing event which has been organised since 2012 on an annual basis, by using SNL’s global mining expertise coupled with AME Trade’s Ltd significant client network and reach on the African continent. The expected outcome will see an increased participation of African mining private and public sector stakeholders attending the event, and the Summit becoming the definitive African focussed mining trade event in Europe.
Mining on Top: Africa-London Summit will take place from 24th -26th June 2015 at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London, United Kingdom. Mining on Top Africa has featured over 650 participants from 38 countries attended the event including official delegations from Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Lesotho, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia Nigeria, Republic of Congo, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia.
Leading global mining companies attended including Anglo American, De Beers, Rio Tinto, Vedanta and First Quantum. Institutional partners featured Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, the World Bank, United Nations Commission on Africa, UK Trade & Investment, Commonwealth Business Council, the Government of Western Australia, Queensland Government, Women in Mining and the APPG Extractive Industry.
The 2015 event will contain an all-encompassing summit program with workshops on day one followed by a two-day conference program focussing on a myriad of issues ranging from infrastructure, investment to social issues. The highly interactive event also includes a business to business program and a collocated trade exhibition.
