Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) in Ghana has recommenced the processing of crude oil after a stall that has lasted for one year since February 2014 after it was unable to secure credit letters for the procurement of crude oil.
The oil refinery has been reopened after a thriving acquirement of 800,000 barrels of crude oil assisted by the Access bank. This is good news to the petroleum industry in the country as it will see many positives taking place such as the economic growth of the country.
Ghana uses about 1,800,000 tonnes of refined petroleum products per year. The refinery’s production reduces the cost of petroleum products imported into the country.
The refinery is located 24 kilometres from Accra, the capital of Ghana.
