Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, has announced that its Exploration and Production experts will attend the LibyanCorr 2014 conference and exhibition to showcase the organisation’s growing portfolio of services in the region.
Organised by the Libyan Corrosion Society, LibyanCorr is in its eighth year and will be hosted alongside the third International Corrosion Engineering Conference in 2014. Both events will take place between 14th and 16th April at Lebdah Hall in the Corinthia Hotel, Tripoli.
Intertek has been offering services to the Libyan oil and gas market for a number of years and is preparing to open a new laboratory in Tripoli in the coming months. The new facility will respond to the requirement for consolidated oil and gas support services local to the region.
The Tripoli base will be operated by Intertek’s Exploration and Production business line and is set to offer a comprehensive range of production chemistry services, corrosion solutions, oilfield microbiology, water chemistry, oil analysis, failure investigation, flow metering and calibration services.
Raymond Pirie, Vice President of Exploration and Production, said: “We are delighted to confirm our attendance at LibyanCorr 2014. For the duration of the event, our experts will be highlighting the extended range of services we will soon be able to offer through our new laboratory in Tripoli.
“The facility forms part of our commitment to bringing an increased number of localised options to our clients, offering service consolidation, facilitating faster turnaround times and removing the need to send samples out-of-country.”
Intertek’s Exploration and Production business has existing bases in other parts of the region, including metering and calibration facilities in Durban, South Africa and Takoradi, Ghana.
Experts from the Production and Integrity Assurance division will be on hand at LibyanCorr 2014 at booth S02 and are scheduled to present the following papers at the event.
