Global manufacturer Pioneer Pump showcased its largest-ever range of high-performance pump sets at this year’s Electra Mining Africa exhibition, in Johannesburg, citing a strong demand from the local market for increased energy efficiency in dewatering as a primary driver behind its product development.
Based on its modular design concept, the company developed and built a single skid unit capable of accepting all three major Cat engines between 300 hp and 6 000 hp. This enables Pioneer to offer multiple fluid ends that are capable of flows beyond 3 500 m3/h in a variety of existing applications in the mining sector, including dewatering, aggregate wash plants and flood control.
“Several of our mining customers had discussed the need to save some R1-million each year. Through the application of our pumps, we guarantee that their operating costs in any mining operation will be drastically reduced,” asserted Pioneer MD Simon Ruffles.
